What is uPVC?

Unplasticized Polyvinyl Chloride, better known as uPVC is a cost effective low-maintenance building material used as a substitute for wood. Commonly used to produce window frames and sills when installing double glazing in new buildings or when replacing older single glazed windows. Other uses include Siding, Fascias, Soffits and weatherboarding. uPVC has almost entirely replaced the use of iron for the production of plumbing and drainage products such as waste pipes, drain pipes, guttering and down-pipes. uPVC is a cheaper alternative to expensive timber and aluminium counterparts. It is extremely versatile and cost-effective and due to it high durability there aren’t typically any ongoing costs. All our uPVC windows and doors are energy rated to conform with building regulations. Another advantage of uPVC is that they never need painting; typically the only maintenance they require is a wipe down with a damp cloth once every couple of years.
